Bare Skills

Bare Skills is a new series of art and survival workshops for young people aged 14 to 25, developed by Parramatta Artists Studios and hosted every second month at PAS Granville.

Bringing together experts and knowledge holders in climate resilience, land-based traditions and apocalyptic aesthetics, Bare Skills participants learn how they can use their creativity to survive in the face of existential crisis.

Inspired by consultation with Parramatta youth, this new program aims to redefine learning and creative experiences for young people led by young people. Ephemera from each session will be catalogued by young designers and photographers in collaboration with participants – and together contribute to the first ever Bare Skills Survival Guide.

Bare Skills is a safe and supportive space to encourage skill-sharing, truth telling, intergenerational solidarity and expansive definitions of creativity – or what it means to be an artist at the end of the world.
