Expressions of interest close 5pm 30 November 2024
City of Parramatta would like to hear from residents from the Carter Street Precinct, Lidcombe, Newington, Sydney Olympic Park and Wentworth Point, interested in joining the Hill Road Advisory Group.
Expected to join a group of NSW Government representatives, Councillors, and a total of 10 community members, members will consider issues related to the upcoming NSW Government funded $50 million Hill Road project.
This three-year project will investigate flooding and upgrade the drainage along Hill Road, and consider broader flooding issues away from Hill Road. With many complex interconnected components, the goal of the project is to eventually reduce flood risk and minimise disruption to the community.
Stormwater and flood improvements will also be supported by $8.5M in funding from the Australian Government for upgrades to Hill Road at Wentworth Point. This will include improved lighting, enhancement of public domain incorporating water sensitive urban designs, and intersection treatments that address current road safety concerns.
Scope of the role
Members of the Hill Road Advisory Group will meet in person every month or two, usually from 6pm to 8pm, on a weekday. The first meeting is likely to be held in March 2025.
This non-paid group will provide information on local issues and help disseminate information when the project begins broad community consultation, continuing to provide advice at various points throughout the life of the project.

Applicants do not need professional engineering or flood management experience. Council is interested in local residents who have a desire to enhance livability, reduce flooding and improve road safety in the community.
