Update on the Contamination at Toongabbie Creek

City of Parramatta takes the health of our waterways seriously.

The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is the responsible authority for investigating the current reports of contamination in Toongabbie Creek (which has been tracked to an alleged source in the Blacktown LGA).

The EPA has subsequently issued a clean-up notice to a business in Seven Hills which requires it to take all reasonable measures to contain and remove pollution from in and around Toongabbie Creek and stormwater system.

Council will continue to engage with the EPA to ensure this waterway is cleaned up to an appropriate standard.

All enquiries should be directed to the EPA as the regulatory authority.
